Here is a smoothie recipe that won a kids snack recipe contest. Pineapple and coconut make this recipe a real tropical treat!

Ingredients:

3/4 C. pineapple juice
1 ripe banana
1 - 4 oz. DOLE pineapple fruit bowl
5 strawberries
1/4 C. light coconut milk
1 t. honey
1/2 C. ice cubes

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in blender until smooth.
Serve (makes 3 servings)

Nutrition values:

Calories 131
Fat 3 grams
Carbs 27 grams
Dietary Fiber 2 grams
Protein 1 gram

I found a very interesting smoothie recipe based on pistachios on a blog today. As we all know, pistachios are high in fiber and good for you and at the same time very tasty.

Pistachio Smoothie Recipe

  • 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
  • 1/2 cup raw pistachio nuts
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1/4 cup nonfat milk
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice

A delicious smoothie recipe have been posted by AZMama on the Prevention.com website. It is based on strawberries, bananas and yogurt, and looks really tasty!

The recipe is as follows:

  • 1/2 cup vanilla or plain yogurt
  • handful or two of frozen strawberries
  • 1 small frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of brewed green tea, cooled
  • 1 Tbs flax seed oil
